New York, 2012. Le réchauffement climatique décime l'humanité. Manhattan est devenu le territoire des bandes rivales qui s'affrontent pour survivre. La moindre miette de nourriture est l'objet d'affrontements violents. Dans cet enfer, un espoir pourtant, entre les mains d'un des chefs les plus sauvages de la région : Le Baron. Il a recueilli un agronome de génie, qui vient de créer une nouvelle race de graine. L'incroyable vitalité de ces semailles miraculeuses pourrait sauver le monde de la famine... Encore faut-il réussir à protéger les jeunes pousses de la voracité des bandes ennemies. Dans ce monde à bout de souffle, où toute autorité a démissionné, y a-t-il encore un homme capable de sauver le monde en affrontant la violence des gangs ? Le baron décide d'engager un certain Carson... Ils s'enfonceront dans l'enfer des anciens tunnels du métro. Le risque sera hélas à la mesure de l'enjeu...
